Contentment

Contentment

“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” - John 6:35 NKJV

As I reflect on this verse, there's a deep sense of guilt that I feel. I remembered one of the texts that Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, "Godliness with contentment is great gain." (1st Tim. 6:6). I'm also captured by what Joseph Addison who was an English essayist, poet, playwright, and politician said. He said, "The utmost we can hope for in this life is contentment."

I often strive to be more successful, to earn more, to acquire more, and to be someone important or need in my chosen field or activity. But as I strive for these worldly things I became more hungry and thirsty for more, the contentment has vanished...

This text provide me a source of power and strength to be contented in life. That's why this verse is the exact answer to the ones who are striving and seeking contentment in life. We just need to look at the Cross, come to Him, and seek Him more earnestly with a sincere heart.

Surely Jesus is the source of contentment!!! God bless us!

Godly Perception

"Upon a life, I did not live, upon a death I did not die; another's life, another's death, I stake my whole eternity."
